Cannabis Festival Fall Marketplace Rocked
November 15, 2019
LOS ANGELES CA, October 8 ( Dr Cyberspace ) — by Robert Bishop — The Pennsylvania Cannabis Festival Fall Marketplace was held October 4-5 at Renninger’s Farmers Market at 740 Noble Street. Admission and parking were free, and the festival was just as successful as expected.
The event marked the first Fall Marketplace event and follows closely on the heels of Gov. Tom Wolf’s announcement of his support for legalizing recreational marijuana in Pennsylvania.
The Cannabis Festival Fall Marketplace featured live music both Friday and Saturday by popular local bands like Deadgrass and Uncle Jake & The 18 Wheel Gang.
The following chart shows the two-day playlist and the times that each band played.
Speakers were on hand for medical marijuana and Cannacentic workshops to assist the 5,000 attendees with Marijuana-related questions.
Marijuana proponent “TerraVida VOWD Fund” offered PA Medical Marijuana Certification. VOWD stands for (Victims of The War on Drugs).
According to their website: Their mission at VOWD is to affect legalization in both Pennsylvania and across the country.
They can help you to expunge marijuana-related records to seek employment in the cannabis industry. They can also assist those who have been victimized by the drug war and subsidize higher education.
It’s quite commendable what they do for those who have been incarcerated for marijuana offenses.
It is amazing how quickly the reality of legalized marijuana is approaching Pennsylvania. Attorney General Josh Shapiro just followed Gov. Wolf in voicing his support for legalizing recreational marijuana for adults.
In addition, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman’s eye-opening 93-day tour of all 67 Pennsylvania counties last April answered many pressing concerns. At every stop in every county he discussed with constituents the legalization of recreational cannabis for adults.
And what did he find out?
Fetterman found that 68% of attendees were in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana for adults.
The pro-marijuana group NORML were sponsors and were represented at the Festival by both the Lehigh Valley NORML and Philly NORML offices.
Hemp flower and pre-rolled hemp cigarettes were available for sale according to organizer Jeff Riedy from Lehigh Valley NORML. The Festival held a charity auction to benefit the LeHigh branch of NORML on Saturday.
Derek Rosenzweig of Philly NORML joined the adult-use panel with discussions on marijuana use by those over 21.
The Pennsylvania Cannabis Festival started in Scranton, PA in 2015. The marketplace event, this past weekend, was an extension of the Pennsylvania Cannabis Festival and it was successful.
Cannabis Festival May Be Moving
The Cannabis Festival was so successful, in fact, that organizers have considered moving the 2020 festival to Renninger’s, said Riedy. The first time the cannabis festival was held outside Scranton was last weekend..
There is marijuana legislation pending in both houses of the Pennsylvania legislature. Passage, however, faces stiff Republican opposition.

In neighboring states like New Jersey, New York and Maryland there is also pending cannabis legislation. Any movement in legalizing recreational cannabis in those states could make the Pennsylvania GOP change direction and join the Democrats.
The state’s medical marijuana companies are hoping to be first in line to supply the recreational marijuana market.

There appears to be only one stumbling block to Legalizing Recreational Marijuana in Pennsylvania and that is the Republican-controlled Legislature. They strongly oppose it.
That’s why Pennsylvanians have a ballot box. Vote to Legalize Recreational Marijuana.
