I have also found them to be one of the most effective web hosts. Unlike many web hosting companies, Godaddy allows you to take control of your own website.

You get FTP access to the server. You can schedule your own cron jobs, and your own backups. They keep their servers up to date with the latest versions of the most popular programming and scripting languages. They are one of the most successful domain registrars. You would be hardpressed to find a more thorough web host or domain registrar than Godaddy.

By that I mean they offer a program for everything. You can register, transfer, park or auction your domains. They offer several different hosting and server plans, one for everyone. Whether you are a business or an individual, Godaddy has a web hosting package for you. I find Godaddy to be "not perfect"(if you can't figure out how to restore your own database, it will cost you), but as web hosts go, I find Godaddy to be among the best.

They have some of the best prices in the industry and most of their services are automated. They don't have chat support, but I find most companies with chat support spend more money on the chat service than they do on keeping their servers and other services up to date. You will be inundated with advertisements and special offers, but you won't forget to renew your domain names.
